IWFL Welcomes Wisconsin Wolves
Austin TX -The Independent Women's Football League is proud to announce that Mary Dearth representing the Wisconsin Wolves, has been awarded a full membership license and will join the league’s roster of teams for the 2008 season. The Wisconsin Wolves comes to the IWFL after completing two successful seasons in their former league.
“The Wisconsin Wolves are known for being a strong football team but they are much more than that. This team plays class football and they play it extremely well. They will be a tremendous addition to the Midwest division,” said Kezia Disney, IWFL Chief Operating Officer.
In 2008 the Wolves will face some of the most respected teams in women’s football today, including the Chicago Force and Detroit Demolition. Other exciting match ups will feature teams from Kansas City and Iowa, as well as the Milwaukee based Wisconsin Warriors. With exciting games against competitors that are within driving distance, 2008 looks to be a great year for Wolves fans as they will have the opportunity to follow their team throughout the regular season.
“We are looking forward to this season , continued competition from the teams that we will be playing and the close locations of cities so that the Wolves fans can easily follow the players ,” Stated Mary Dearth, Wisconsin Wolves team Delegate.
About the Wisconsin Wolves
The Wolves were established in 2005 by Mark and Mary Dearth. The ladies started playing in 2006. The wolves are located in Madison, Wisconsin, playing their games at Brietenbach Stadium in Middleton, Wisconsin. The Wolves have an overall record of 14-8 for the two seasons that they have played. The Wolves strive to put a competitive team with good sportsmanship and integrity on the playing field. Our goal is to introduce women’s tackle football to the state of Wisconsin. The Wolves have ladies coming from all over the state. Some driving up to two hours one way for practice and games.
